Happy New Year!!!! Every year is a happy one with a PADS pup! In December, we focussed a lot on “Go in,” with a greater ‘curl up’ in shallow closets in our house. Then, progress was noted twice when York remained in ‘Go in’ position under our table at Westward Ho restaurant while we ate our supper! Before snow, loose leash walking right in position beside me without sniffs or treats or verbal encouragement was noted and enjoyed (by me). After snow, it was very different with bouncing in snow, eating snow clumps, trying to catch snowflakes; I resorted to using a halti on our walks which helped a lot. A positive outcome of walks in snow is ‘body handling’ of paws after every walk to massage legs, paws, and in between toes to remove any snow or ice clumps.
