ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking someone to fill the role of IT Support Analyst (37.5 hrs./week, part-time available for the right candidate). Reporting to the Manager of Admin and IT, the IT Support Analyst is part of a growing department committed to helping and supporting one another and to creating efficient business processes to allow growth for the organization.
The IT Support Analyst is the primary staff member responsible for maintaining our Microsoft 365 tenant. They support the organization’s staff and volunteers with top-notch Tech support and maintain the network and cyber security policies.
ABOUT YOU
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or you have the equivalent experience
- Experienced with Microsoft products (Windows 11 and MS365) and familiar with iOS and MacOS. Experience with Salesforce would be a bonus.
- Able to work a flexible schedule when and if required.
- Organized, professional, a good communicator (verbal and written), a lifelong learner, and excited about change
- Creative in your approach to problem-solving, with good collaboration skills
- Effective at time management and able to balance competing priorities.

ABOUT THE JOB
The IT Support Analyst handles these responsibilities for the Society:
- Support and manage the operation of Windows 10/11 and MacOS/iOS operating systems
- Provide prompt and effective tech support to users
- Troubleshoot network and hardware issues
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Provision computers for users
- Analyze processes and develop more efficient and cost-effective processes wherever possible
- Maintain naming conventions and information architecture for storage of PADS documents
- Ensure user creation and permission assignments are handled promptly, and that user removal (offboarding) is handled in a timely manner to ensure data security
- Manage inventory of computer hardware and prepare plans for hardware needs (replacement and new staff).
- Ensure that staff are trained on the technology platforms that fall within the IT department. This may include creating training documents or videos
- Ensure PADS technology is supported at events (projectors, payment systems, etc)
- Develop strategies to improve organizational cybersecurity and protect PADS’ data
- Ensuring system and data security through the use of antivirus and encryption
- Manage system backups and recovery plans
- Maintain cybersecurity policies and training for staff
- Monitor system performance and address any problems or issues
- Document procedures, operations, and issues for future reference
- Test and evaluate new technology for possible implementation
- Coordinate with vendors for the repair of system malfunctions
- Data hygiene
- Other duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS & COMPENSATION
This is a hybrid position working out of our Burnaby, BC Campus. The IT Support Analyst shares workspace and equipment with other employees at PADS’ facilities. Most of the time, work is scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, from 9 am to 5 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. There may occasionally be a need to work evenings or weekends. There is an option for part-time for this position for the right candidate.
There is occasional interaction and physical contact with dogs that are in advanced training and puppies visiting the PADS campus.
COMPENSATION
The compensation range for this role is $28 per hour. A benefits package is available after the 3-month probation period for employees who work 20 hours or more a week.
