ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis (Ktunaxa), Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Niitsítpiis-stahkoii ᖹᐟᒧᐧᐨᑯᐧ ᓴᐦᖾᐟ (Blackfoot / Niitsítapi ᖹᐟᒧᐧᒣᑯ), Tsuut’ina & Michif Piyii (Métis) Nations, and the Syilx Okanagan People.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

Happy Halloween from our tiniest PADS pumpkins 🎃 We hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! To ensure that the only frights are those from haunted houses, here's some safety tips to keep in mind: 🎃 Considering moving your candy station curb-side so that everyone can enjoy their trick-or-treating experience! Steps, steep inclines, or narrow pathways can create barriers for some. 🎃 For nervous pets (or people), make sure to provide a quiet and calm space away from the front door during peak trick-or-treating hours 🎃 Make sure your pet costumes are comfy and well-fitting, and don't hinder your pet's movement. 🎃 Keep human treats out of reach of your canine companions. Chocolate, raisins, and anything with xylitol are harmful for dogs. Canoe believe it? We've got five brand new puppies Canoe believe it? We've got five brand new puppies on board 🛶 We're pleased to announce the arrival of George's Paddling Places Litter! PADS Fernie and @lfcdogguides Cartier welcomed brothers Chester II, Chilko, Nolan and Seymour II, and their sister Nellie, all of whom are named after some of the beautiful waterways throughout BC. Chester is named for Chesterman Beach, Seymour for Seymour Narrows, Nolan for Nolan Point, Chilko for the Chilko River, and Nellie for Nels Bight. We're grateful to George for supporting this litter and picking these oar-some names (he's canoed or kayaked in all of the places these pups are named for, as well as many more). She's currently working on all things puppy, and is rocking at it! She's already nailed visiting patios and cafes, and even joined Campus Canines at UBC Imagine Day (she was a big hit). Yellow vests for yellow puppies 💛 The eight pup Yellow vests for yellow puppies 💛 The eight pups from the “In Loving Memory of Sharon Tokar” Litter each donned their adorable yellow vest last week, marking the start of their puppy-raising journeys. PADS Bryn II, Chorcha, Glover, Jasper III, Kyree, Pixie II, Riff, and Zuby all met their puppy raisers or sitters last Friday and are now settling into their new homes.
