ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwรบ7mesh (Squamish), Sษ™lฬ“รญlwษ™taส” (Tsleil-Waututh), xสทmษ™ฮธkสทษ™yฬ“ษ™m (Musqueam), Ktunaxa ษamakษis (Ktunaxa), ฤจyรฃฤงรฉ Nakรณn mฤ…kรณce (Stoney), Niitsรญtpiis-stahkoii แ–นแŸแ’งแงแจแ‘ฏแง แ“ดแฆแ–พแŸ (Blackfoot / Niitsรญtapi แ–นแŸแ’งแงแ’ฃแ‘ฏ), Tsuutโ€™ina & Michif Piyii (Mรฉtis) Nations, and the Syilx Okanagan People.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

Meet Team DeeDee! When Rhi met hearing dog PADS DeeDee, she was looking forward to a dog who would alert to the sounds she missed. What she didnโ€™t expect was a partnership that has profoundly transformed every part of her life. โ€œI used to walk with my eyes down,โ€ she reports. โ€œNow, with DeeDee by my side, my head is held high. I feel safe. I feel connected. I feel seen.โ€ DeeDee has become a companion, a guardian, and a bridge to independence for Rhi. โ€œSheโ€™s my lifeline.โ€

You can help to create more inspiring partnerships like Team DeeDee. Visit the link in our bio to read Rhiโ€™s full story, and make a donation today to help fund future life-changing hearing dogs.

Weโ€™re sharing inspiring, innovative, and impactful stories from across the PADS village in celebration of International Assistance Dog Week 2025.

Meet Team Thorin! You may know PADS Thorin and his handler, Ali, as the first Accredited Facility Dog team in the Yukon. This innovative pair is helping to redefine care in the North, supporting the mental health and wellness of first responders across the territory. With his soulful eyes, enthusiasm for his work, and the invaluable ability to bring calm to the chaos, Thorin is more than a dog.

โ€œHe is a teammate, a source of comfort, and a powerful advocate for mental health,โ€ reports Ali. โ€œI am beyond proud of Thorin and the impact he is making.โ€

You, too, can make an immeasurable impact for those on the front lines. Give today through the link in our bio and have your gift matched to help us raise, train, and place twice as many life-changing assistance dogs.

Welcome to International Assistance Dog Week 2025! Over the next seven days, weโ€™ll be sharing and celebrating some of the most inspiring, innovative, and impactful stories from across the PADS village.

To kick this week off, weโ€™d like to introduce George. George has been an invaluable PADS volunteer for almost ten years. His humility, knowledge, and belief in whatโ€™s possible when people and dogs work together make him an inspiration for other volunteers, old and new alike. And, this International Assistance Dog Week, heโ€™s inspiring us once again.

George is personally matching every gift made this month, up to $30,000.

Demand for assistance dogs has never been higher. With the help of Georgeโ€™s generous gift, your donation will go twice as far towards training more incredible assistance dogs. Visit the link in our bio to give today, and change a life.

A new litter has landed - everyone say hello to the Boeing Invictus Legacy Litter โœˆ๏ธ

Proud parents PADS Sawyer and PADS Steller welcomed sisters Elsie, Rosie, Seven, and Everett, and their brothers Eddie, Tank and Pilot.

This litter sponsorship is a continuation of our partnership with the 2025 Invictus Games. Weโ€™re incredibly grateful to @Boeing for their generosity during the games and beyond. Thank you for naming and supporting these future superheroes. We canโ€™t wait to witness the lives theyโ€™ll change.

And thank you to Kaylie, PADSโ€™ incredible Breeding and Medical Manager, for taking on the role of Breeder Caretaker for this litter.

Summer Safety Tips - Tick Watch ๐Ÿœ

While youโ€™re on your summer camping and outdoor adventures, it's important to be on the look out for ticks! Ticks are often found in heavily wooded areas, and may carry diseases. We recommend checking your dog after they've played in long grass and forested places.

Be sure to check the following where ticks can be found hiding on your pup:
๐Ÿถ Around the eyes and ears
๐Ÿถ Under your dogโ€™s collar
๐Ÿถ Around the tail
๐Ÿถ In between their toes
๐Ÿถ Between their back legs

Meet Team Compass. They've been partners since March 2023, when Compass bounded through Fern's front door and changed her life. "Compass is not just my service dogโ€”she is my lifeline."

Recently, when Compass faced two unexpected surgeries, Fern accessed the PADS Emergency Vet Fund. This fund is available to PADS clients so that their canine lifelines can access the very best care, without the financial worry that can come with it.

We're happy to report that Compass is recovering well from her surgeries. And now, Fern's hoping to pay it forward to other clients who may face the stress of their best friend needing care. You can help by visiting the link in our bio and making a donation to the fund. Team Compass (and future PADS Service teams) will greatly appreciate it ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™
